Which streaming protocols does ModernTV use?
ModernTV packages streams with HLS and MPEG-DASH — the two protocols supported by modern smart TVs, streaming sticks, mobile devices and browsers. Streams are split into HTTP-based segments and offered at multiple bitrates for adaptive playback.
How does ModernTV handle DRM?
Content is encrypted on the fly for both live channels and video on demand, so protection does not require a separately stored encrypted copy of every asset and does not interrupt the viewing experience.
Can ModernTV integrate with our existing CRM or billing system?
Yes. The middleware exposes an open API designed for integration with systems an operator already runs, so an existing subscriber or billing platform can stay in place during and after migration.
What hardware does the transcoding run on?
